Reasons why Quinn Fabray is my favorite character:
Quinn is definitely my favorite character and the reason behind it is not only because I love Dianna Agron.
When the show introduced us to Quinn, we saw this mean girl who apparently only cares about popularity. She would bring people down if she had to, because that would keep her on top. She had the power to control the people around her and do with them whatever she wanted, just because she was Quinn f***ing Fabray, Head Bitch in Charge.
I’ve always loved that kind of character because it makes you wonder why they are they way they are. I mean, in real life, I have met a lot of people exactly like that, and in all cases there are quite interesting reasons that explain their behavior. That’s also the reason why I loved Faith Lehane on Buffy.
Quinn Fabray was raised in a catholic family where they pretended everything was just perfect, when they know for a fact it isn’t, but they just ignored it, because if you ignore things and pretend they aren’t there, it’s like they don’t actually exist. You can only imagine how that must feel, living a lie. Then without even noticing you are part of that lie as well.
You can tell by how she acts and the way she was raised that she feels the need to have someone by her side, a boyfriend to make her feel like she is safe and secure because obviously her family doesn’t do that for her. She probably is one of the most beautiful girls in the school but she still feels insecure about it and she needs people to tell her that. And that’s the main reason why she ends up doing stuff she isn’t proud of.
She is surrounded by a lot of people yet she feels lonely. She must feel like most of the people are around her just because she is popular, but then again that’s what she thought she wanted in the first place.
When she got pregnant she had to deal with everything. She could just have made the choice to have an abortion but she didn’t, she kept the baby and decided to face whatever came with that. Then, she gave the baby up for adoption, which I think was the best option because she is, what, 16? She knew that baby was going to need a nice home and unfortunately she didn’t have one, nor people who supported her, except for the glee club but let’s face it, it was not that simple.
But I know that her character was/is perfect to have an incredible storyline, but the writers have not realized it, or they are just oblivious. I know she is not supposed to be the main character like Rachel, Finn or Kurt but that doesn’t mean she can’t have storyline at all.
I felt the need to say this because lately I’ve seen so much hate towards Quinn because of what she has done, but the thing is I wish sometimes people wouldn’t judge without actually knowing what the person is going through. I know we are talking about just a “fictional character” but you know, people do that in real life all the time? It’s so easy for them to judge without even knowing what that person is thinking, what that person is dealing with everyday and it’s funny because a lot of those people judging Quinn here have experienced that in their life. It’s hard to walk in other people’s shoes but all I ask is to at least give them the benefit of the doubt before jumping to conclusions.
Bottom line I love QUINN FABRAY!
